This video shows you how to program your LPU-2428 Ultrasonic Level Sensor to measure volume using the LPU-2428 programming software.

Transcript:

You’re watching APG TV. I’m Shaw Merrill, and today we’re going to show you how to program your LPU-2428 Ultrasonic Level Sensor to measure volume using the LPU-2428 programming software.

To begin programming the LPU-2428, click on the basic setup button on the left hand side of the screen. Next select the units to be displayed on the right. Now set the application to volume and select the volume units to be displayed. Click on the send button near the bottom of the screen to send these settings to the sensor, and wait until the progress bar completes to continue to the next step.

Now we are ready to set the remaining parameters. Click the applications setup button and set the tank type for the style of tank in your application. There are several tank types built into the software. For abnormal tanks, not included in the software, you can use the linearization table option, see the manual for details on using this option.

Once you’ve selected your tank type, set the full distance or the distance from the sensor face to the closest target being detected. Remember the sensor has a 1 ft. blanking distance. Next set the empty distance, also referred to as the zero distance or the distance from the sensor face to the bottom of the tank. Now set the diameter, length, width, etc. for the remaining parameters for your tank type on the screen. These diameters will be tailored to the tank you chose and will be used to provide dimensions to the sensor.

Next click the 4 to 20 setup button in the left menu, and enter your minimum milliamp set point, this is the 4 mA setting, it is usually set to 0. Then enter the maximum milliamp set point, this is the 20 mA setting. These maybe the same as your full and empty distances or they might be different. Once entered press the send button to save these settings and wait for the progress bar to complete.

Your sensor is now set up and ready to go. The remaining advanced features in the programming software will default to automatic settings. To change these settings, please refer to the LPU-2428 user manual programming section.

You’re watching APG TV. I’m Shaw Merrill, and today we’re going to show you how to program your LPU-2428 Ultrasonic Level Sensor to measure distance using the LPU-2428 programming software.

To begin programming the LPU-2428, click on the basic setup button on the left of the screen. Then select the units to be displayed on the right. In this example, we will select feet. Next, set the application to distance. Press the send button near the bottom of the screen to send these settings to the sensor. Wait until the progress bar completes to continue to the next step.

Now we are ready to set up the other parameters. Click the application setup button. You’ll see a max distance setting on this screen. This is the maximum distance you want to measure from the sensor face, or in other words, how far you want the sensor to look.

Next, click the 4 to 20 setup button in the left menu to set your minimum milliamp set point. This is the 4 mA setting and the maximum milliamp set point. This is the 20 mA setting. These settings will provide the output reading from your sensor. Press the send button to save these settings and wait for the progress bar to complete.

Your sensor is now setup and ready to go. The remaining advanced features in the programming software will default to automatic settings. To change these settings please refer to the LPU-2428 user manual programming section.

You’re watching APG TV. I’m Shaw Merrill, and today we are going to show you how to program your LPU-2428 Ultrasonic Level Sensor to measure level using the LPU-2428 programming software.

To begin programming the LPU-2428, click on the basic setup button on the left of the screen. First select the units to be displayed on the right. In this example we will select feet. Next set the application to level. Press the send button near the bottom of the screen to send these settings to the sensor, wait until the progress bar completes to continue to the next step.

Now we are ready to set up the parameters. Click the application setup button on the left menu. Now determine the full distance or the distance from the sensor face to the closest target being detected, and enter this number into the space. Remember the sensor has a one foot blanking distance. Next enter the empty distance also referred to as the zero distance, or the distance from the sensor face to the farthest target being detected. These settings tell the sensor the dimensions for a level reading.

Now click the 4 to 20 setup button on the left menu and enter your minimum milliamp set point, this is the 4 mA setting and the maximum milliamp set point, the 20 mA setting. These can be the same as the full and empty distances or they may be different depending on how you want to use the outputs. Press the send button to save these settings and wait for the progress bar to complete.

Your sensor is now setup and ready to go. The remaining advanced features in the programming software will default to automatic settings. To change these settings, please refer to the LPU-2428 user manual programming section.
